When you need to stay with us, our Medical-Surgical Nursing Unit brings together skilled nurses, hospitalists and therapists under one roof. The unit includes our intensive care beds, the swing bed program, the outpatient Infusion Center and Labor & Delivery.

For patients who need closer monitoring, our ICU rooms feature bedside cardiac monitoring visible both in the room and at the nurses' station. ICU nurses are specially trained in critical care and work hand-in-hand with our physicians.

Swing Bed Program

Not quite ready to go home after surgery, illness or injury? Our acute care swing bed program offers an extended rehabilitation stay with an individualized plan (therapy, nursing and medical oversight) to help you return to your prior level of function.

Patients can come to us after a stay at SRMC or another hospital, so you can recover close to family. Our case manager works with you, your family and your insurance to plan the stay and a safe return home.

A swing bed stay can include

Daily physical, occupational and speech therapy
IV antibiotics and medication management
Wound care and post-surgical care
Nutrition support from our dietitians
Teaching for patients and caregivers before discharge

Infusion Center

Certified infusion nurses deliver outpatient therapies in a comfortable setting, including chemotherapy for our oncology patients, so treatment happens close to home.
