Scammers increasingly target Medicare beneficiaries. The best defense is to review your Medicare Summary Notice every month and compare it with your own records of appointments, tests and equipment.
- Check that provider and company names match who you actually saw.
- Never give your Medicare number to unsolicited callers or door-to-door sellers.
- Be wary of "free" equipment or tests offered in exchange for your information.
